Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard personal information, and it is part of these Terms by reference.

1. Services Provided

  • Interior painting (walls, ceilings, trim, doors, cabinets)
  • Exterior painting (siding, trim, decks, fences, fascia)
  • Surface preparation (sanding, caulking, priming, patching)
  • Drywall repair and installation
  • Power washing and surface cleaning
  • Color consultation and design assistance
  • Commercial and industrial painting

All work is completed by trained professionals using standard industry methods and quality materials. Each project’s scope will be outlined in a written estimate or contract.

2. Estimates and Pricing

Estimates from Raleigh Paint Pros are prepared using the information available during the initial consultation. Unless stated otherwise, estimates remain valid for 30 days from the issue date.

The final price may change if:

  • Additional prep work is needed beyond the original scope
  • Hidden damage such as rot, mold, or water intrusion is found
  • Material costs shift significantly
  • The customer requests changes to the original scope of work

Any pricing adjustment will be shared with and approved by the customer before extra work starts. We do not begin work without a signed agreement or written approval.

3. Scheduling and Access

After the agreement is in place, we will set a project date that works for both sides. We aim to stay on schedule, but timelines may shift because of:

  • Weather conditions (rain, extreme heat, high humidity, freezing temperatures)
  • Material shortages or supply chain delays
  • Unexpected conditions at the site
  • Permit or inspection requirements

Customers must provide reasonable access to the work area, including moving furniture, valuables, and personal items out of the project space unless we agree otherwise in writing.

4. Payment Terms

Payment terms are listed in your project contract. General payment policies include:

  • A deposit may be required before work starts (typically 25-50% of the project total)
  • Progress payments may be required for larger projects
  • Final payment is due when the project is complete and the customer walkthrough is finished
  • Accepted payment methods: cash, check, credit card, and electronic transfers

Late balances may incur a 1.5% monthly finance charge (18% annually). Returned checks will be charged a $35 fee. Work may be suspended if payment terms are not met.

5. Customer Responsibilities

As a customer, you agree to:

  • Share accurate details about the property and the project
  • Keep the work area accessible and safe for our crew
  • Remove or protect fragile items, valuables, and personal belongings
  • Keep pets secured and children away from the work area
  • Raise any concerns promptly during the project
  • Attend the final walkthrough and sign-off

If these responsibilities are not met, the project may be delayed or subject to added charges.

6. Warranty and Guarantees

Raleigh Paint Pros stands behind the quality of our work. Warranty coverage includes the following:

  • Workmanship Warranty: Labor and application are covered for the period listed in your contract, typically 2 years for residential projects
  • Paint and Materials: Manufacturer warranties apply to the products we use
  • Exclusions: Coverage does not extend to normal wear and tear, moisture intrusion, structural movement, customer-applied changes, or acts of nature

Warranty claims must be submitted in writing within the coverage period. We may inspect the issue and decide whether to repair it under the warranty.

7. Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • Before work begins: You may cancel with written notice at least 48 hours before the scheduled start date. Deposits may be refunded after subtracting any material costs already incurred or custom colors mixed.
  • After work begins: If you cancel after the project has started, you will be billed for completed work, materials used, and a reasonable cancellation fee.
  • Custom orders: Special-order materials and custom-mixed paint colors are non-refundable.

8. Property Protection and Damage

If property damage occurs, you should:

Raleigh House Painting FAQs: Answers for Local Homeowners

Painting a home in Raleigh takes local know-how. Learn what affects durability, pricing, and results for North Carolina homes, from weather and surfaces to neighborhood requirements.

  • In Raleigh, weather is often the deciding factor. A typical home in areas such as North Hills or Brier Creek usually needs about 5 to 7 workdays. High summer humidity can slow drying, and spring pollen means crews have to plan carefully to achieve a clean, long-lasting finish.

  • Pricing depends on the home and the amount of prep needed. A 2,000 sq ft house in historic Oakwood may cost more because older siding often needs detailed surface work, while a newer home in Wake Forest may be simpler to paint. Final cost is shaped by surface condition, number of stories, and paint grade.

  • Many neighborhoods in Raleigh, including parts of North Raleigh and communities near Falls Lake, follow detailed HOA design rules. It is best to get approval for your color choices before buying materials. Historic districts close to downtown may also require additional review to protect the area’s character.

  • Look for a North Carolina contractor license if the project is over $30,000. Make sure the painter carries liability coverage and workers' compensation. It also helps to ask for recent references from jobs near you, whether that is a downtown Raleigh bungalow or a Cary colonial, so you can judge their local experience.

  • Late spring, after pollen levels drop, and early fall are usually the most reliable times. Those seasons bring milder temperatures and less humidity, which helps paint go on smoothly and cure properly. It is smart to avoid intense summer heat and the sudden afternoon storms that often arrive later in the season.

  • The most common issues are peeling on south-facing walls that get heavy sun, mildew in shaded and damp areas like wooded lots near Umstead Park, and blistering caused by trapped moisture on older wood siding, which is common in neighborhoods such as Boylan Heights.

  • Yes. A professionally done exterior paint job is one of the strongest ways to improve return on investment. It immediately sharpens curb appeal, which matters in active markets like Garner and Knightdale, and can help a home attract more attention and a better offer.

  • Yes. Many high-quality low-VOC and zero-VOC products are made to perform well in humid conditions. They limit odor during interior work and are a better fit for families, while still delivering the moisture resistance and mold protection Raleigh homes need.

  • For siding, satin or another low-sheen finish is usually the best choice because it helps disguise small flaws and is simple to clean. For trim and doors, semi-gloss offers better durability and a bit of shine, which holds up well against sun exposure and rain splash.

  • Start with a yearly inspection in the spring. Rinse siding with a garden hose to clear away pollen and dirt. Cut back shrubs and branches that hold moisture against the house. Check caulk around windows and doors and repair cracks quickly so water does not get inside, which is a common concern in this climate.
